  • Growing up in Egypt, where food is a basic part of everyday life, I discovered my love for cooking at a young age. As a child, I would often sneak into the kitchen, eager to experiment with different ingredients and flavors. With each culinary creation, I found joy in the simple act of bringing people together over a shared meal.

    As I grew older, my passion for cooking continued to grow. I became known as the "Family Chef," responsible for preparing meals for our gatherings and celebrations. These moments spent in the kitchen, surrounded by loved ones and the aromas of delicious food, became some of my most cherished memories.

    It wasn't until later in life that I decided to turn my passion for cooking into something more. Inspired by my upbringing and the joy of sharing meals with others, I founded Basil and Pine—a catering venture dedicated to spreading happiness through food.

Gorgeous and delicious!

Gorgeous and delicious! We have had Basil & Pine for a few of our events and it’s been such a hit. The attention to detail is incredible- the setups are breath taking and the food is mouthwatering. Note she can do things that are beyond the menu items here especially middle eastern food! Also, she great to work with— and personality matters too.

Delicious beyond description

I have never ate such delicious food. The Grazing table was fabulous. Really you could see, smell and immediately realize this is something that was made with pure love and deep dedication. The grazing table, I would describe it as an Art Piece. Each cheese slice, each olive, each strawberry, each kiwi or orange slice was so neatly and decoratively positioned that you would feel total satisfaction even before you taste anything. The taste was another amazing story. The selection of what goes on the table is not an easy task, as it has to taste well when put together. This is what Hajer mastered the most. Assorting everything together so that they fit perfectly, visually, decoratively and first and foremost taste-wise. Chapeau.
